Originally formed after Basie’s death as a continuation of that band. In part, no doubt, because Nat Pierce could sound exactly like Basie when called upon to do so. But as time went by, this changed along with most of the personnel. Here is an example of their evolving sound. While I cant find any credits for arranging on this recording, it's a good bet that Nat Pierce did the bulk of them
