The Jelgava’s Big Band was formed in 1991. The band consists of a mixture of amateur and professional jazz musicians. The number of people on stage varies from a small jazz group to a full band, playing a song program from classic jazz to pop music.
Jelgava’s Big Band works with many Latvian solo players, for example Raimonds Pauls, Olga Pirags, Marija Naumova, Intars Busulis, violin player Raimonds Ozols  and others. A concert with legendary singer Freddy Quinn from Germany was taped for television in 2002. The past year, the Big Band has already played 40 concerts during their Latvian tour “Frank Sinatra 100”, playing the greatest hits of Frank Sinatra.
Over the past years, the band has performed in Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Spain, Italy, France, Czech Republic and Baltic countries.
