JOHNNY RICHARDS
"Walk Softy - Run Wild!"
Johnny Richards is best known for his association with Stan Kenton and the many arrangements he put in the Kenton Library. Of particular note were his Grammy award winning arrangements for the Kenton Orchestra of West Side Story and Adventures in time, both featuring a melophonium section. Throughout his time with Kenton, he had his own big band and did a few recordings, This in on such recording. The soloists are not listed but from the list of personnel one can easily pick out such luminaries as Frank Rosolino, Maynard Ferguson, Gene Quill and others.
